Therefore, fresh water needs to be continually replenished to keep the working temperature of the water ring pump constant. In fact, the limit pressure of the water ring pump is not very important, because different liquids, when the pressure is lower than 50-60hPa, cavitation will occur, and the pump parts will be damaged. When the pump approaches the limit pressure, the pumping speed is very low, and the water at the pump inlet begins to boil. When turned to the outlet of the pump, the bubbles formed began to burst. This will generate a lot of noise, and at the same time the pump drive wheel and pump cavity and other components are gradually destroyed. This phenomenon is often referred to as cavitation. Once cavitation occurs, a small amount of fresh air is introduced through the small valve. In this case, a small hole is opened in the entrance road to add some fresh others quantitatively. If a gas injector is used, cavitation will not occur.

The single-stage water ring pump is only suitable for the inlet pressure range of 130-1013kPa, and the compression ratio is 1: 7. If the inlet pressure is lower than 130kPa, it is recommended to use a two-stage water ring pump. In the two-stage pump, the two pump chambers are connected in series, and the working chamber volume ratio is about 2.5: 1. The ultimate pressure of a two-stage water ring pump depends on the water vapor pressure. Assuming that the water vapor pressure at the pump operating temperature is pH2O, the inlet pressure is pA, and the geometric pumping speed is Sth, then according to experience, when the pressure is lower than 130hPa, the effective pumping speed of the pump is SA = Sth (1-pH2O / pA ) Considering the low vapor pressure of the oil, the two-stage liquid ring pump can also be used as the working fluid of the pump, thus obtaining a lower limit pressure. However, when a large amount of water vapor needs to be pumped, especially in the case of crude pumping and essential oil, because the oil easily absorbs water to form an emulsion, the liquid ring pump rarely uses oil as the pump fluid in this case. If oil is used as the pump fluid, an oil cooling device must be provided on the pump to dissipate the heat of compression. Three-stage or multistage liquid ring pumps are rarely used. However, liquid ring pumps are often used in series with gas injectors, water injectors and roots pumps.
