In 1999, the Science and Technology Department of Jilin Province supported the Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry to conduct research on the synthesis of polymer materials from carbon dioxide. After years of research, the following series of achievements have been achieved. The successful development of rare earth ternary catalysts shortens the polymerization time from 20 hours to less than 8 hours, thereby ensuring that CO2 copolymers are truly used as plastics. Products can be used for disposable tableware and food packaging materials.
