Identify toxic food packaging bags

It is commonplace to wrap foods in plastic bags, but people often overlook the fact that some plastics are toxic to the human body and readily use a plastic bag to hold food.

Polyvinyl chloride plastics are toxic species; polyvinyl chloride resins are non-toxic, but plasticizers dibutyl or dioctyl phthalate are added during the plastics manufacturing process. They are toxic. In addition, stabilizers are added to some plastic products. These stabilizers are mainly lead stearate, which is also toxic. This lead salt is easily precipitated. Once it enters the human body, it will lead to accumulation of lead poisoning. When using a special food bag, it must not be used indiscriminately. The following points should be noted in use:

1. Precipitation of lead occurs when polyvinyl chloride products come into contact with solvents such as ethyl alcohol and ethyl ether. Therefore, it is not appropriate to use polyvinyl chloride plastic products to store alcohol-containing foods.

2. When PVC meets oily foods, lead will dissolve into foods, so it is not suitable for packaging oily foods.

3. When the temperature of PVC plastics is higher than 50°C, HC will precipitate slowly. This kind of gas is harmful to human health.

4. Waste plastic recycling products, due to the complexity of the source of raw materials is unavoidable with toxic ingredients, and can not be used for food packaging.
