Five new POS terminal companies have passed the on-line evaluation of UnionPay, and two of you may not be familiar with it.

On November 3, the UnionPay Logo Product Qualification Certification Office updated the list of compliant terminal manufacturers of the “Guidelines for Lifecycle Safety and Quality Management of UnionPay Card Acceptance Terminal Products”. In addition to the more well-known terminal manufacturers in the industry, Shenzhen Shigao Communication Technology Development Co., Ltd., in addition to the more well-known terminal manufacturers in the industry, the list of five new UnionPay card acceptance terminals that have passed the on-site evaluation of UnionPay. Zhejiang Dejing Electronic Technology Co., Ltd. is also on the list.

It is understood that Supreme Communications was established in 2003, and its main business includes the development and sales of mobile communication terminal mobile phones and tablet computers. In 2011, Supreme Communications Strategy transformed into an application service provider for the mobile Internet industry, and in the second year, it successfully customized the credit card acceptance terminal for Bank of Communications and entered the banking service market. In July 2014, Donghua Software acquired 100% equity of Supreme Communications for RMB 800 million.

Dejing Electronics is a solution provider for intelligent mobile communication devices, mainly providing original designs for mobile phone manufacturers such as ZTE, TCL, Hisense and Haier. In October 2016, the original Sanlian Trading Co., Ltd. acquired a 100% stake in Dejing Electronics for a consideration of RMB 800 million, and set aside the assets related to home appliance retailing, and officially entered the field of intelligent mobile terminals. Dejing Electronics' own intelligent financial POS terminal brand is “Rongchuang”.

In the past two years, the popularity of mobile payment has driven the outbreak of the smart POS industry. Many mobile terminal manufacturers have been waiting for the opportunity to enter the smart POS terminal market. In addition, some established traditional POS vendors are currently engaged in the research and development of bank card acceptance terminals in China. More than 200 manufacturers are expected to generate and design.

In order to guide terminal manufacturers to improve product design and R&D management level, in January this year, UnionPay released the "Guidelines for Lifecycle Safety and Quality Management of UnionPay Card Acceptance Terminal Products", from enterprise qualification, asset management, independent research and development capabilities, service capabilities, and product life cycle. (Safety) management and other aspects, on-site evaluation and evaluation of terminal enterprises, aiming to promote the healthy development of the industry through strict entry barriers. At present, 16 terminal manufacturers have passed the on-site evaluation of UnionPay.
