Screen Printing Printing Materials--Plastics (3)

5. Propylene copolymer

Polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) is a completely transparent material with a light transmission of 92% and good optical quality. This material is used for safety glass and glass boxes, and some of the new traffic signs are now made by PMMA. Other propylene copolymers are used in the paint and adhesive industry.
In the combustion test, the main characteristics of the identification of polymethyl methacrylate were: rapid combustion, no self-extinguishing, flame yellowish blue, a certain amount of limescale, and the smell of fruit.

6. Polyamide

Polyamide, also known as nylon, is a commonly used plastic material. Polyamide is very wear-resistant and resists the effects of various solvents used in screen printing, and the screen is also made of this material. Polyamine itself is a milky, opaque material. It is very strong, flexible and easy to mold and process when heated.

In the combustion test, the characteristics of the polyamide were identified as: slow burning, self-extinguishing, blue flame, no ash, and flaming odor.

7. Polycarbonate

Polycarbonate (PC) is distinguished from other thermoplastics by its high temperature resistance. It is a transparent material, yellow in itself, the price is relatively high, but due to its excellent mechanical properties, the demand is large, mainly used to stretch the film. Static electricity is easily generated during printing. PC is a material with high impact resistance but is sensitive to alkaline substances.

Identification of the PC in the burning test is characterized by: the general burning speed, usually self-extinguishing, the flame is yellow, heavy smoke, many grime, there are keratin burning odor.

8. Polyester

Poly cool plastic is divided into two types: alkyd resin and unsaturated polyester. Alkyd resin is used as a binder in screen printing inks. The alkyd is a mixture of alcohol and acid. Unsaturated polycondensation (PU) is usually simply referred to as polyacetal and is produced by polycondensation (generation of a macromolecule with substitution reaction). The polycools seen are usually films, filaments (mesh for screens) and plates. The size of the vinegar is very stable, resistant to chlorine, dilute acid and alkali, sunlight and sunlight, and it is not moldy. Dedicated polyacetal films on the market are usually transparent, dyed, surface-metalized and coated with adhesive films. These films are excellent for screen printing.

Identification of the characteristics of poly-cool in the combustion test is: slow combustion, usually self-extinguishing, flame yellow, heavy soot, fruit odor.

9. Phenolic resin and amino resin

One of the best-known phenolic resins is bakelite. The intrinsic color of Bakelite is yellow-brown. It is mostly used for the production of TV sets. It can also be made of cardboard-like composite boards. The more commonly used amino resins are urea formaldehyde resin (UF) and melamine formaldehyde resin (MF). UF and MF are usually made of colored, semi-transparent sheets, the surface of which is often processed into uneven orange peel. These materials are hard and fragile, especially the heavy use of melamine formaldehyde resins by the power industry.

Identification of phenolic resin (laminate) in the combustion test is characterized by slow burning, self-extinguishing, yellow flame, and formaldehyde odor. The characteristics of the aldehyde-formaldehyde resin in the combustion test are: slow burning, self-extinguishing, yellow flame, smell of impure coal (monosodium glutamate).

Identification of the melamine formaldehyde resin in the combustion test is characterized as the same as the furfural resin except for the odor of the urea resin.

10. Cyclochlorine resin

One of the uses of the cyclic chlorine resin is to produce paints and varnishes. Compared with other plastics, its price is higher. Most of the screen printing used in the plate. Cyclochlorine resins are also used to bond composites. It has good mechanical properties, excellent electrical properties and good chemical resistance properties.
The characteristics of the identification of the cyclo-chlorine resin in the combustion test are: slow burning, self-extinguishing, yellow flame, slight gray smoke, and sweetness.

11. Polyurethane

Polyurethane squeegee is a use of polyurethane in screen printing. Polyurethane is resistant to acetone, gasoline, alcohol, and benzene, but in methylene chloride and ethyl acetate, polyurethane swells. Polyurethane is used in the textile industry as a coating for textiles. There is also a supply of foamy ammonia in the market.

Identification of polyurethane in the burning test is characterized by: burning slowly, self-extinguishing, blue and yellow flame, soot, sweet and sour smell.
