3 Color management technology in digital printing In digital printing, when an image is input, people often find that the original image is scanned and input by the scanner. The color displayed on the screen is different from the color output by the output device. , And tend to think that this is a problem caused by the color cast of the image scanned by the scanner. In fact, the problem can not be completely pushed to the scan, because even when the scanner scans correctly, the display, printer, etc. may still cause the color difference between the scan color and the reproduced color, which requires correcting the display, the printer, and the entire system.
According to the ICC specification, the elements of color management are clarified.
a. Device-independent color space PCS (Profile ConnectionSpace). ICC selected CIELAB and CIEXYZ as device-independent color spaces for color management;
b. Device profile (Profile file). Profile files are used to describe the device's color characteristics and color gamut. All devices in the color reproduction system (scanners, monitors, printers, etc.) must have their own profile.
The color management system establishes the mapping relationship between the device-specific color space and the device-independent color space PCS according to the information provided by the device profile.
c. Color Management Module (CMM). When performing color space conversion, the color management module CMM is used to interpret the device profile description profile file, and perform color data conversion between different devices according to the device color features described in the profile file.
