Invista develops new materials for beer packaging

Invista recently developed a new material for beer packaging, Poly Shield gas barrier polyester resin. It is reported that the PET single-layer beer bottle using this material greatly improves the barrier properties of oxygen and carbon dioxide gas, and its oxygen absorption property avoids the problem of “empty bottle life”.

With Poly Shield, preforms can be produced on standard injection molding machines without the need for additional equipment. The technology is currently being tested at beer production plants.
