In addition to being a large-scale entertainment art collection, the project also explored 3D printing technology as an interesting and versatile craft tool.
According to the editor, ShirAtar inspired his 3D printing art project after receiving photos of the failure of the local 3D printing service. He explained that for reasons of time, he applied the lowest print settings and parameters in his project, after which he found that his 3D printed objects had rough ends and extra tows. For many people, this may be tire of these things, but Atar sees the potential. As he told 3D Tiger, "It feels like my model has a beard."
Interestingly, a month later, the designer contacted an exhibition curator who was interested in exploring the role of hair in design, so he started the 3D printed Hairline project. Now, the art series consists of many parts, each of which has a common Easter-inspired face, but the difference between each is the hair or beard. The choice of using the Moai statue as a starting point is important because it provides a consistent and familiar face, the observer will not pay attention to it, and will focus on the hair.
According to ShirAtar, "I used many methods to produce different hairstyles. First, I used a CAD software to digitally model each line to form the initial basis for nozzle movement during the printing process ... Later I tried offset printing , Change the alignment, printer orientation, various volume printing, and print speed, fan speed and direction, etc. All these tests are performed separately and tested together with other parameters. "
