With the continuous development of China's economy, self-adhesive labels have been more and more widely used in various product packaging fields. In recent years, people have become more and more demanding on the beautiful shape of packaging, and the amount of film-type self-adhesive materials is also increasing. However, the film-type self-adhesive material is different from the paper-based self-adhesive material, which has high requirements on the processing technology, and is prone to some problems during the processing. Therefore, in this article, the author will share some common problems and solutions in the processing of film-based self-adhesive labels.
First, printing off ink
1, poor surface coating
Film-based materials have low surface tension and need to be coated before being made into a dry collagen material. Poor coating results in printing off ink. Usually, the ink is peeled off in a large area, especially when the tape is tested, the surface ink is stuck to a large area by the tape. At this point, a batch of qualified materials needs to be replaced by the raw material supplier, or the printing company can print a layer of primer oil to increase the surface tension, but it will increase the cost.
2, poor ink and material matching
Drops of ink caused by this cause are usually expressed in pieces or sporadic. Materials cannot be replaced due to factors such as material costs and customer needs. At this point, the ink supplier can be found to match the material. At the same time, the printing plant can also take some auxiliary measures, such as corona treatment of materials in advance.
3, poor corona effect
The ink drop of the film material is related to the surface energy of the material. The stronger the surface energy, the stronger the ink adhesion, and vice versa. However, the corona effect will decay with time and may cause ink to drop during printing. This type of phenomenon is more common in inexpensive BOPP and PE materials, which are corona treated by most manufacturers considering the high coating cost. In this case, the manufacturer or supplier should re-corona before printing.
4, poor UV drying
Most of the self-adhesive materials are printed using UV inks, so if the drying is not complete, the ink will be lost. This situation is manifested by one or two colors of ink drop, just increase the power of the UV lamp or replace the UV lamp to solve the problem.
Second, printing is not true, imaginary, white spots
1. The surface flatness of the material is poor
Generally, the surface flatness of film-based materials is superior to paper-based materials, but some special materials, such as heat-sensitive synthetic paper materials, have a heat-sensitive coating on the surface, which may result in false printing and faintness. This is due to the poor flatness of the coating and the high density of white spots visible upon magnification. At this time, the flatness can be improved by applying a primer to the surface of the material.
