At the recently concluded Las Vegas International Consumer Electronics Show, Inuitive announced that Bellus3D will use the company's NU3000 device for scanning people's faces.
The Bellus3D camera used in connection with smartphones and tablets can create high-quality 3D models of human faces and faces for use in surgical procedures, facial safety recognition, and can also create 3D models in video games.
Developers and third parties will be allowed to take advantage of middleware and APIs to develop their own applications.
Using the unique architecture of the system chip NU3000, the Bellus3D camera uses advanced image processing algorithms to efficiently generate a simple, high-quality 3D model from a mobile device.
The application guides the user through a set of instructions to ensure a perfect scan. Among them, the first application is built on the NU3000 based on the Bellus3D camera, which allows users to scan their faces and digital make-up.
The NU3000 inuitive processor integrates two cores of high-performance to low-power graphics and computer vision CEVA MM3101. It also integrates a dedicated hardware accelerator that can extract depth maps in real time through stereo vision input.
In addition, the NU3000 of the Bellus3D camera replaces the camera interface, control, synchronization and memory interface, thereby simplifying the design process.
It is reported that Inuitive is an Israeli company, established in 2012, NU3000 is its main product: a solution for detecting depth and processing on a mobile platform. It is used in augmented reality, virtual reality, drones and robots.
Bellus3D is a Silicon Valley company, founded in 2015, which developed a 3D scanning technology for faces. The Bellus3D camera uses patent-pending proprietary technology, which detects three-dimensional 500K points of the face and captures facial details, such as skin wrinkles in seconds.
